New York City
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is the smallest of the three major New York airports, alongside John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in Queens and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey, situated in East Elmhurst, Queens. The airport got its name from NY’s former mayor Fiorello La Guardia in 1953. It is spread over 680 acres and is considered as 20th busiest airport in the US, serving around 20 million passengers on annual basis.

LGA is largely considered New York’s domestic airport and its only international flights are to and from Canada. Each day LGA welcomes passengers in thousands, arriving in NYC and departing to cities throughout the USA. Although the airport is undergoing major development that began in 2016, even it stays open and offers comprehensive amenities and services for travelers.

The airport has got now 72 new gates, 2 new arrival and departure halls, improvements in rail from the airport to Manhattan.

With its proximity to Manhattan compared to JFK, passengers looking to fly domestically can find LGA as a primary choice, when the renovations will be completed.
